East Carolina University (ECU) is under scrutiny as a growing scandal unfolds involving allegations of sexual misconduct against a student on campus. At least seven women have come forward, accusing 20-year-old Jamari Cobb, a former high school football standout, of predatory behavior. The accusations have sparked outrage, especially after claims surfaced that university officials allegedly ignored multiple reports.

Cobb, a 2023 graduate of Parkland High School in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, began his freshman year at ECU in August 2023, according to his Facebook profile. His bio reads, “One bad chapter doesn’t mean your story is over.”
Now, that “chapter” is drawing intense attention.
Earlier this week, ECU student Faith Pellini went viral on TikTok after revealing that she is facing possible expulsion for assaulting Cobb at an off-campus party. In the video, Pellini claimed she “spit on and beat up” Cobb after learning of the numerous allegations against him. She cited at least seven Black female students that are alleged victims.

Pellini also launched a petition on Change.org demanding Cobb’s expulsion from ECU. The petition has quickly gained momentum, surpassing 3,000 signatures within days. Although Pellini did not name Cobb directly in the petition, she claimed the accused student has been reported to campus administration over eight times — yet remains enrolled and active on campus.
“I engaged in a confrontational incident at an off-campus ECU party against this individual, widely reported for his alarming predatory behaviors. As the person standing up against such horrific actions, I am now facing possible expulsion for ‘endangering and harassing,’” Pellini wrote.
A local news report that Cobb has filed a restraining order against Pellini. ECU officials have since released a statement indicating the university is currently investigating the situation.
Cobb has not been charged with any crimes in connection to these allegations.
