Police at East Carolina University (ECU) are actively investigating an alleged sexual assault reported on Saturday, March 29, 2025. According to university officials, the report involves a case of sexual battery and second-degree forcible sexual offense at College Hill Suites, a student residential facility located on campus.
Campus police confirmed that the victim and alleged perpetrator were acquaintances. The victim promptly reported the incident, and the investigation is currently ongoing.
This latest report adds to a concerning trend of sexual assault cases reported at ECU during the 2024–2025 academic year. According to WITN News, multiple incidents have occurred across various campus residence halls:
Jones Hall: Two rape reports, with one case still under investigation
Garrett Hall: Two rape reports, one case closed due to lack of victim cooperation
Fletcher Hall: One sexual battery report

Garrett Hall – November 4, 2024
