KINSTON, NORTH CAROLINA — On Tuesday, the people of Kinston didn’t just vote — they sent a pink slip. After eight years in the mayor’s seat, Don Hardy was officially FIRED by the voters. The city made its voice loud and clear on Election Day: “We want new energy, new vision, and a leader who actually listens.”

Stepping into that spotlight is Kareem Moore, a military veteran and licensed practical nurse who came in strong with a promise to “clean up, lift up, and bring every side of Kinston to the table.”

THE VOTERS DONE HAD ENOUGH

Hardy spent his campaign trying to sell “continuity.” He talked infrastructure upgrades, affordable housing, and small-business growth. But the people of Kinston weren’t buying what he was selling this time.

Meanwhile, Kareem Moore walked in like a breath of fresh air. He ran on a message of rebuilding the middle class, cracking down on crime, and making sure those neighborhoods that been left out of city progress finally get some love.
