Disturbance at Pink Hill Elementary in Lenoir County NC, Triggers Lockdown —Three ADULTS ARRESTED
A major disturbance at Pink Hill Elementary School in Lenoir County led to the arrest of three adults and charges filed against a juvenile following a verbal altercation that spiraled into a school-wide safety concern.
On Thursday, May 23, the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) confirmed that the situation escalated enough to put the school on a temporary lockdown, requiring quick response from multiple agencies including LCSO, the Duplin County Sheriff’s Office, Pink Hill Police Department, and the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.
Three Arrested In Disturbance at Pink Hill Elementary
The accused individuals—identified as Jamil Blount, 43; Ariel Rodriguez, 33; and Lasherri Sutton, 44, all of Deep Run—have been charged with disorderly conduct on educational property.

Additionally, a 16-year-old juvenile was charged with disorderly conduct in a school setting. Authorities reported that Sutton was given a $1,000 secured bond, while Blount and Rodriguez were held without bond due to being on pretrial release. The juvenile was issued a juvenile petition and released into the custody of a guardian.
The altercation is believed to have begun as a verbal confrontation but quickly escalated. The lockdown was lifted once the area was deemed secure by responding law enforcement agencies.
The incident remains under investigation.
