A Diddy Pardon? Trump Says He’d Consider It
President Donald Trump revealed that he would consider a Diddy pardon for music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs if convicted on federal charges of sex trafficking, racketeering, and coercion.
Speaking at a White House press conference on Friday, Trump was asked directly about the possibility of a pardon for Combs, who is currently standing trial in New York. His response? “Nobody’s asked. But I know people are thinking about it,” Trump said. “I would certainly look at the facts. If I think somebody was mistreated, whether they like me or don’t like me, it wouldn’t have any impact on me.”
The statement immediately sent disturbances through both political and entertainment circles.
Diddy, 55, was arrested in September 2024, following a sweeping federal investigation. The probe ramped up after a bombshell 2023 lawsuit from ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura, accusing Combs of physical abuse and rape. Though that case settled, several other women came forward with disturbing allegations, prompting federal charges.
In May 2024, CNN aired surveillance footage from 2016 showing Combs assaulting Ventura in a hotel hallway. In response, Combs called his past behavior “inexcusable” but denied the current charges. His legal team insists the current prosecution is overreaching.

The president admitted he hasn’t followed the case closely and hasn’t spoken to Combs in years. “He used to really like me,” Trump noted, “but our relationship changed after I got into politics.”
The potential pardon has ignited fierce backlash. Critics argue a pardon would damage public faith in the justice system. As Diddy’s trial unfolds, the nation waits to see whether Trump will flex his presidential pardon powers once again.
