A 30-year-old daycare teacher, Delicia Chambers, is back on the streets after allegedly spraying at least three children in the face with a bottle of water. The incident occurred at Childtime Learning Center in Monroe on December 1, 2024, but police only acted recently after obtaining warrants on January 21, 2025.
Chambers, who was arrested the following day after turning herself in, was released on a written promise to appear.

According to police warrants obtained by The North Carolina Beat, the children—whose exact ages remain unspecified but are under 16—were subjected to the spray, which authorities describe as either a mix of soap and water or just plain water. Although the precise contents are still a matter of question, it’s clear that Chambers allegedly used a bottle to spray the children directly in their faces.
Chambers’ arrest comes after a delay, with her next court appearance scheduled for February 7, 2025, in Union County. The daycare teacher was processed and released from Mecklenburg County Jail on the condition that she return to court.
