Chris Brown jailed in UK — that’s the shocking reality facing the R&B superstar after a British court remanded him into custody on serious charges of grievous bodily harm with intent. The charges stem from an alleged violent assault on music producer Abe Diaw that took place at Tape nightclub in London back in February 2023.
Chris Brown Arrested in Manchester Over Alleged 2023 Club Attack
According to authorities, Chris Brown allegedly attacked Diaw during a private event, striking him multiple times in the head with a Don Julio 1942 tequila bottle. The brutal assault reportedly continued as Brown punched and kicked Diaw while he was down. The entire altercation was said to be captured on CCTV footage, which became a key piece of evidence leading to Brown’s arrest.
Due to the severity of the allegations, the court denied Brown’s bail, ordering that he remain behind bars until his next appearance at Southwark Crown Court on June 13, 2025.
The timing couldn’t be worse. The artist was set to kick off his highly anticipated “Breezy Bowl XX” tour in Amsterdam on June 8 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of his debut album. But with Chris Brown jailed in UK, major dates—such as the June 13 show in Frankfurt—are now at risk of cancellation.
The tour was expected to feature other major acts like Jhene Aiko, Summer Walker, and Bryson Tiller.
If convicted, Chris Brown faces a prison sentence of 2 to 16 years under UK law.
