Chris Brown Arrested
R&B icon Chris Brown was arrested early Thursday morning, May 15, 2025, at The Lowry Hotel in Manchester. Authorities say the arrest is tied to a violent incident that allegedly took place in February 2023 at Tape nightclub, located in London’s upscale Mayfair area.
According to officials, Brown, age 36, was taken into police custody around 2:00 a.m. under suspicion of grievous bodily harm (GBH).
Alleged Attack Involving Tequila Bottle and Brutal Beating
The original complaint, filed by music producer Abe Diaw, alleges that Chris Brown assaulted him during a private event on February 19, 2023. Diaw claims Brown used a Don Julio 1942 tequila bottle as a weapon, striking him repeatedly in the head. The alleged assault reportedly continued with Brown punching and kicking Diaw while he was on the ground.
Diaw says he was knocked unconscious and later required hospitalization. He was discharged on crutches and now claims the injuries are long-lasting. As a result, Diaw filed a $16 million lawsuit (approx. £12 million), accusing Brown of causing severe physical and emotional harm.
