A Charlotte woman is facing domestic violence charges after allegedly pepper spraying her boyfriend during a heated argument sparked by suspected cheating, according to court documents.

On Wednesday, May 21, 2025, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department arrested 21-year-old Nieasha Wingo and charged her with the misdemeanor crime of domestic violence. Officers responded to a medical call on Merrick Street and were met with a pepper-sprayed scene.

Nieasha Wingo, 21, faces domestic violence charges in Charlotte after a heated altercation with her boyfriend led to pepper spray being used.

According to court documents obtained by The North Carolina Beat, Wingo’s boyfriend, identified as Masiah Williams, told police that the altercation began when Wingo went through his phone and discovered he was “talking to someone else.” Williams reported that Wingo became enraged, started punching and scratching him, and the argument quickly turned physical.





The situation escalated when the couple reportedly slipped and fell to the ground, resulting in Wingo busting her lip after hitting her mouth on the ground. While Williams stepped outside to call 911, Wingo allegedly pepper sprayed him in the face, court documents revealed.

Wingo was taken into custody and later released on a $5,000 unsecured bond. As part of her release conditions, she has been ordered to stay away from her boyfriend—a requirement that remains to be seen if she’ll actually follow.
