Kayden Cunningham, an 18-year-old employee of Dominos Pizza in Charlotte, has been arrested following an incident in which he allegedly stabbed a co-worker in the back and face during his shift, reportedly over them both being interested in the same woman.
Court documents obtained by The North Carolina Beat charges Cunningham with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill or inflict serious injury (AWDWIKISI). The altercation occurred on October 10 at approximately 9 p.m., prompting law enforcement to respond to a report of a stabbing at the Dominos establishment located on WW.T. Harris Blvd.

Stabbed victim restrained suspect until police arrived
Upon arrival, the responding officer observed the victim restraining Cunningham in the kitchen area of the restaurant, with blood visible on the victim’s face, according to court documents. Eyewitness also told officers that Cunningham was the instigator of the confrontation.
Stabbing over interest in a woman
The victim was transported to a hospital, for non-life-threatening stab wounds to the head and face. He told the authorities that he was in an argument with Cunningham regarding their shared interest in a woman. The victim stated that as he turned to wash his hands, Cunningham allegedly attacked him with a knife.
It is unclear exactly what was discussed during the argument regarding the woman.
Suspect denies stabbing co-worker
Cunningham was released on October 11 on a $25,000 bond and is subject to electronic monitoring, which includes a curfew from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. He is also prohibited from having any contact with the victim.
His next court date is scheduled for October 31, 2024.
