Perfecting Church has faced years of criticism for its unfinished mega-worship center that’s been under construction for nearly two decades.

Construction first started in the early 2000s but was halted after the 2008 recession affected financing. In 2023, Detroit city officials sued, calling the property a “public eyesore.”

A revised agreement between the city and the church allowed construction to resume with new design updates.

According to reports, the church now expects to complete the project in 2025.

Many social media users blasted Winans for his tone and lack of compassion, saying the woman was clearly giving from the heart.

  1. Wow that was so disrespectful and wrong. Church is all about money not about about God she wrote to the altar what she can bring. He should’ve been satisfied that put a bad taste in my mouth about him. My hungry pastors, they get richer and taken from the poor he must be a republican.
