BET SUSPENDS TWO MAJOR AWARD SHOWS ON THE NETWORK
Say it ain’t so! BET is leaving fans in a musical drought after announcing that both the Soul Train Music Awards and the BET Hip Hop Awards have been suspended indefinitely—and the streets are SHOOK.
The Black Entertainment Television network CEO Scott Mills dropped the bombshell in a recent interview with Billboard.com, confirming that the two beloved annual award shows are officially suspended indefinitely.

Why the Sudden Shutdown?
BET hasn’t said why the shows got iced, and that silence is LOUD. But in the interview, Mills said he’s going to move the shows to “another space”.
“Do I move it to streaming? Or do I move it to another platform?, he said.
He continued and said that there is a team “that’s actively thinking about where those award shows might best live as the media climate continues to evolve.”
Award shows such as the NAACP Image Awards and the Stellar Awards will continue.
