A caretaker at a North Carolina group home is facing serious criminal charges after allegedly spraying an intellectually disabled child in the face with Lysol disinfectant.
Sprayed with Lysol, Slammed to the Floor
Authorities say Alexandria Cox, 43, was charged over the weekend for assaulting an 11-year-old girl with intellectual disabilities at the Howell Center, a facility that serves individuals with developmental challenges.
According to the arrest warrant, Cox allegedly sprayed the child directly in her eyes with Lysol and then forcefully slammed her to the ground. The disturbing incident took place on Saturday and was reported by the facility’s manager.
Despite no visible injuries, Cox was charged.

Cox is now facing three separate charges:

She was booked and later released on a $15,000 secured bond. Her next court date is set for October 14, 2025.
