Durham Man Arrested For Allegedly Stealing His Mom’s Android Phone & Smashing Windows – Same Dude Who Sprayed HIV Blood On Nurses

Kameron Lamont Gilchrist arrested in Durham May 2026 on larceny from the person and injury to real property charges involving his mother

Court warrants accuse Kameron Lamont Gilcrhist of stealing his mother Regina Gilchrist’s Android cellular phone and damaging window glass at her property, according to newly obtained charging documents detailing the allegations.

Kameron Lamont Gilchrist is back behind bars. The 26-year-old who pleaded guilty last year to spraying his HIV-positive blood into the eyes of two hospital workers was arrested on Friday, May 22, 2026, on fresh charges out of Durham County involving his own mother.

According to court records, Durham Police took Gilchrist into custody on a warrant issued just three days earlier. He now faces:

  • Felony Larceny from the Person
  • Misdemeanor Injury to Real Property

The warrant details exactly what went down. Warrants say Gilchrist “unlawfully, willfully, and feloniously did steal, take and carry away an Android cellular telephone, the personal property of Regina Gilchrist (mother), from the person of Regina Gilchrist (mother).”

The other warrant said he “unlawfully and willfully did wantonly damage, injure and destroy real property, window glass (panes), the property of Regina Gilchrist.”

Same Man From the Hospital HIV Blood Incident

This is the exact same Kameron Lamont Gilchrist who made headlines in 2025 after he allegedly pulled his IV while receiving diabetic treatment at UNC Health Rex Hospital in Raleigh and intentionally sprayed HIV-positive blood into the eyes of two healthcare workers.

He later pleaded guilty to assault charges (using his blood as a deadly weapon) and was sentenced to 91 days in jail.

Gilchrist was arrested in Wake County. He is in with a $3,000 secured bond.
