Harnett County child sex crimes investigation leads to arrests of Cape Fear Primary Care phlebotomist Joshua Gilliam-Lynch and spouse Ronald Wayne Lynch after ICAC cybertips.
Authorities in Harnett County say 39-year-old Joshua Gilliam-Lynch, who worked inside Cape Fear Primary Care in Erwin drawing blood for patients, is accused of committing sex crimes involving a child. Officials said he was not directly employed by Cape Fear Valley but worked through PathGroup, a separate company that provides lab and phlebotomy staff to medical offices.
Investigators with the Harnett County Sheriff’s Office said the case began after several alerts were forwarded through the Internet Crimes Against Children system, commonly known as ICAC. Those reports were also shared with the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, which assisted in the investigation.
Detectives later searched the couple’s home in Erwin after obtaining a warrant. During that search, law enforcement reportedly confiscated multiple electronic devices believed to contain possible evidence tied to the investigation.
Gilliam-Lynch is now facing felony charges that include statutory sexual offense, indecent liberties with a child, and sexual exploitation of a minor. Jail records show he is being held with no bond allowed.
His spouse, 39-year-old Ronald Wayne Lynch, was also taken into custody. Investigators accused him of possessing and exploiting child sexual abuse material. He remains jailed under a secured bond set at $360,000.
Joshua is in jail on a $1,000,000.00 bond.
Authorities say the investigation has identified at least two alleged victims so far, and investigators believe some of the reported incidents may have happened months ago.
The couple also shares four sons together.
The investigation remains ongoing.
