A heart-wrenching tragedy happened in Anson County, North Carolina news when 6-year-old Mianna Roach kidnapped and killed by father and fatally shot by her father, Michael Roach, early Monday morning. Authorities say Michael then attempted to take his own life and is currently hospitalized in critical condition.
The series of events began around 3 a.m. on March 24, when Mianna’s mother contacted the Polkton Police Department, reporting that Michael had broken into her room, threatened her at gunpoint, and abducted their daughter using her vehicle.

Around 8 a.m., deputies from the Anson County Sheriff’s Office spotted the vehicle and initiated a high-speed chase. The pursuit ended in Wadesboro, near Little Creek Road and Old Winfield Road, when Michael crashed the SUV into a ditch.
Upon approaching the wrecked vehicle, deputies discovered Mianna deceased from a gunshot wound, while her father was suffering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Michael was airlifted to a Charlotte hospital, where he remains in critical condition, according to reports from WCCB Charlotte’s CW.

Mianna’s mother launched an online fundraiser to help cover funeral expenses. A touching photo shared on the fundraiser shows Mianna smiling brightly at her recent birthday party, with her father visible in the background.
“I am trying to raise money to bury my beautiful 6-year-old baby girl, who left this world too early by the hands of the father she loved her whole little life,” Mianna’s mother wrote.
