Whiteville woman charged after allegedly shooting her husband in the head.

A Bladen County woman is sitting behind bars with no bond after deputies say she shot her husband in the head early Tuesday morning during what they believe was a domestic dispute.

The Bladen County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) said they got a 911 call around 8:30 a.m. on October 15 about shots fired in the Oakdale Homes area of Clarkton. When deputies got there, they found Craig Rich suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.

Officials say he was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he’s now listed in stable condition.

Investigators say it was his 50-year-old wife, Alisa Michelle Rich, from Whiteville.

She’s been hit with attempted first-degree murder charges and is being held in the Bladen County Detention Center.

The sheriff’s office also confirmed that the eyepatch Alisa was wearing in her mugshot was before her arrest, shutting down any social media rumors that it came from the altercation.
