A man from Virginia has been charged by federal authorities for posting online threats to kill Vice President Kamala Harris.
Frank Lucio Carillo, 66, faces a felony charge for threatening the vice president. He was taken into custody at his home in Winchester last week, as reported by Winchester Star News.
Carillo appeared in court on Monday, where he was informed of the charges against him; one felony count of making threats against the vice president of the United States.
Federal court documents reveal that investigators linked Carillo to several posts on a conservative social media platform called GETTR, where he made violent remarks about Harris, who is expected to be the Democratic presidential nominee. The documents indicate that Carillo threatened to burn Harris alive and expressed a desire for her to experience a “slow agonizing death.”
“AR-15 LOCKED AND LOADED”
In another post in federal court documents, Carillo said he had his “AR-15 locked and loaded.” On Friday, the feds said they seized an AR-15 rifle, a pistol, and “thousands of rounds of ammunition” from his home in the 200 block of Brigstock Drive.
“Harris is going to regret ever trying to become president because if that ever happened, I will personally pluck out her eyes with a pair of pliers but first I will shoot and kill everyone that gets in my way that is a f****** promise,” a user named “joemadarats1” posted on July 27.
The same day, the user made a post saying, “Kamala Harris needs to be put on fire alive I will do it personally if no one else does it I want her to suffer a slow agonizing death.”
The user subscriber information on the GETTR site traced back to Carillo. On Friday, FBI agents bombarded Carillo’s home. Authorities said he was questioning the search and then admitted to making the posts.
The AR-15 and 9mm handgun found and seized at Carillo’s home was purchased by him in 2023 and 2024, according to court documents.
Another post was made on July 27, almost a week after Biden announced that he would not be seeking reelection.
“Crapler Harris is laying thieving piece of garbage like the rest of this administration. They all need to die, and they will soon,” the post read. “Just for being a Democrat you’re going to die crap La Harris that’s a f****** promise I’m going to find you and your f****** family and I’m going to kill you all you f****** waste of life I can’t wait to rip your eyes out of your f****** head with a pair of eyes you piece of s*** and nothing but scum of the Earth and you’re going to die like it,” the post read.
Federal authorities said Carillo also made thousands of online posts threatening to kill or harm President Joe Biden and other high-ranking public officials.
