Canadian rapper Tory Lanez has been charged in connection with a shooting involving rapper Megan Thee Stallion.
On Thursday, prosecutors handed down indictments against Lanez, charging him with assault with a semiautomatic firearm and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle. These charges don’t really equal to Lanez actually shooting Megan, normally we would see some assault with a deadly weapon type charge if the target had been hit.
Lanez is due to be arraigned Tuesday in L.A. He could face up to 22 years and eight months in state prison if convicted as charged.
Prosecutors say they will ask the judge to set his bond at $1.1 million.
But if you don’t remember, Lanez is accused of shooting at Megan Thee Stallion’s feet, hitting her, after she left a SUV during a fight in the Hollywood Hills on July 12, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
