A Beaufort County woman is facing multiple criminal charges after authorities say she kicked a pregnant school resource officer during a disturbance at an elementary school in Washington, North Carolina.
BEAUFORT COUNTY, N.C. — Chaos erupted at a Beaufort County elementary school after a mother was arrested for allegedly kicking a pregnant school resource officer in the stomach during a heated confrontation on campus.
According to court records, 44-year-old Khadeeja Muhammad of Washington, North Carolina, was taken into custody Thursday by the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office following an incident at John Small Elementary School.
Investigators say Muhammad showed up at the school attempting to see her child — despite being explicitly instructed by the Department of Social Services not to have contact with the child.
Warrants state that a pregnant school resource officer (SRO) confronted Muhammad and repeatedly told her to leave the property. Authorities say Muhammad refused to comply and the situation quickly escalated.
According to court documents, Muhammad allegedly kicked the pregnant officer in the stomach during the confrontation.

Despite the nature of the incident, the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that both the officer and her unborn child were not injured.
Muhammad is now facing multiple criminal charges, including:
-
Assault on a pregnant woman
-
Assault on a government official/employee
-
Resisting a public officer
-
Second-degree trespass
-
Disorderly conduct at a school
Muhammad was booked into the Beaufort County Detention Center.
