WILMINGTON, N.C. – A 19-year-old man is facing some serious charges after police say he broke into not one, but TWO apartments at UNCW’s Seahawk Village — and allegedly climbed into bed with a woman while she was asleep.

Authorities identified the suspect as Nicholas Edward Morganeli.

One victim told police she woke up to find Morganeli in her bed, uninvited, allegedly cuddling her and touching her over her clothes — all without consent.

According to his magistrate release order, Morganeli was “extremely intoxicated” at the time of his arrest.

Morganeli has been hit with:

  • Two counts of felony first-degree burglary
  • Misdemeanor sexual battery
  • Underage drinking
  • Probation violations

Authorities say Morganeli was intoxicated when he allegedly broke into student apartments.

He made his first court appearance on March 23 and was given a $15,000 secured bond, which he posted the same day.

THIS AIN’T HIS FIRST RUN-IN WITH POLICE

Court records show Morganeli was already on probation from a previous incident at UNCW just last year.

Back in April, he was accused of starting a fire inside a residence hall elevator. While those charges were eventually dismissed, he still caught misdemeanor charges for:

  • Marijuana possession
  • Drug paraphernalia
  • Disorderly conduct

He was placed on probation — which he has now allegedly violated.

NO LONGER A UNCW STUDENT

UNCW confirmed Morganeli is no longer enrolled.
