Memphis pastor Ricky Floyd shot
Ricky Floyd, the well-known Memphis pastor who recently eulogized the late “Cussing Pastor” Thaddeus Matthews, was fatally following an altercation at Momma’s Bar early Wednesday morning.
According to Live5News.com, the incident occurred just after 1:20 a.m. Witnesses reported that Floyd and 42-year-old Samantha Marion were involved in an argument inside the bar, which later escalated outside. Surveillance footage allegedly captured Floyd throwing Marion’s phone to the ground and tossing a beer can before attempting to leave the scene in his vehicle.
However, Floyd stopped, exited his car, and approached Marion once again. At that moment, Marion shot Floyd. Authorities pronounced Floyd, the pastor of Pursuit of God Transformation Center, dead at the scene.
Marion has since been charged with voluntary manslaughter in connection to the shooting.
It’s unclear what the relationship is between Floyd and the woman.
In court on Thursday, Marion pleaded not guilty to the shooting. She is being held on a $100,000 bail, with a hearing to consider altering her bail scheduled for Friday.
The shooting remains under investigation.
