A viral fight video exposes Maxine Willoughby’s alleged lies to police, contradicting claims of a brutal ambush and revealing the truth behind the March altercation.
A North Carolina woman named Maxine Willoughby, 34, of Middlesex is now at the center of controversy after a damning fight video obtained by The North Carolina Beat reveals she lied to police about a supposed brutal beatdown involving two other women.
According to warrants from earlier this year, Britney Lakita Jones and Jazmine Makinta Whitley were accused of violently assaulting a woman—who sources later confirmed was Willoughby.
But the video tells a whole different story.
The warrants, issued back in March 2025, claimed Jones and Whitley beat Willoughby with baseball bats, tried to run her over, and even used a taser during the attack in Bailey, North Carolina.
It also alleged that explicit photos of Willoughby were passed to her own children by Whitley.
But the video we have shows none of the beatdown she alleged she got. Instead, it captures a one-on-one fight between Willoughby (seen running from the left to fight Whitley).
There were also no bats seen attacking Willoughby. No car is seen trying to run her down either, no tasers are present, and Willoughby is the one stripping out of her own clothes during the fight.
The video completely contradicts the version of events she swore to under oath.
Willoughby’s false accusations led to warrants being taken out on Jones and Whitley, but now with this video, there are questions about whether Willoughby perjured herself and weaponized the justice system over a personal beef.
According to sources close to the situation, Willoughby is in a relationship with Whitley’s father, and the fight stemmed from Willoughby wanting Whitley out of the house—which belonged to Whitley’s late grandmother.
The North Carolina Beat reached out to Willoughby for a statement but she could not be reached.
Whitley told us that she wants her life back, as she has had a hard time finding employment—both she and Jones. She said she did not hit Willoughby with a car and that all of it was made up lies.
