City Fitness in Lexington NC sparks outrage after video shows employee dragging child
The incident happened inside City Fitness, according to the post made by Piedmont Aviation Snack Bar on Facebook — and social media users are split over what they saw.
In the clip, a small child wearing green can be seen moving toward an employee. The worker briefly redirects the child before the toddler falls to the floor. The employee is seen grabbing the child by one leg, lifting them slightly, and dragging them a few inches across the floor before tapping the child’s chest and walking away.
The video abruptly end.
The Facebook post, captioned “This is City Fitness in Lexington NC, everyone… I do know that the Lexington PD is not acting. Let’s make them!!! Unacceptable isn’t even the correct word.”, quickly racked up hundreds comments.
Some users said the employee appeared frustrated but not abusive, calling it a “non-malicious correction.” Others, however, demanded that Lexington Police take action, saying the act was “disrespectful and unnecessary.”
The Lexington Police Department has not publicly commented on whether an investigation is underway.
