Kymberli Bowden charged after 13-year-old daughter found dead and twin brother discovered malnourished in High Point home
Authorities say a 13-year-old girl was found dead inside her family’s home — and her twin brother discovered malnourished and living in filth.
According to the High Point Police Department (HPPD), officers were called to a home on East Farris Avenue on October 13, 2025, for a welfare check.
Inside, investigators found the lifeless body of a young girl and discovered her twin brother barely surviving in what police described as “unsanitary” and “hazardous” conditions.
The Mother Behind Bars
The children’s mother, 44-year-old Kymberli Bowden (also known as Bowden Wilson), was arrested on October 30, and hit with multiple felony charges — including two counts of felony child abuse and one count of concealing a death.
Court documents allege that Bowden failed to provide adequate food, medical care, or safe living conditions for her children. Authorities say the home was filled with trash, rotting food, and unbearable odors, painting a picture of long-term neglect and disregard.
Her bond has been set at $1 million, and she is expected to appear in Guilford County Court on December 19, 2025.
Investigators described the home at 411 East Farris Avenue as a scene of horror.
The deceased daughter reportedly died from “serious bodily injury due to neglect,” while her twin brother suffered from severe malnourishment and psychological trauma consistent with long-term abuse.
An autopsy is pending to determine the girl’s exact cause of death, while medical teams continue to evaluate her brother’s physical and psychological condition.

She don’t need a bond…. Why is she being given a bond. Send her a*s to jail for life
Straight out of a Freida McFadden novel (the latest one called The Intruder). This is horrifying. I’m so sorry this happened to you, baby girl. Hopefully a loving family will take care of your twin. Any way we can reach out to help?
