Perkins was arrested and charged in connection with the death of her boyfriend, Quinton Gray, after calling 911 on December 8, 2024, to report a break-in and shooting at their Sweet Amy Lane residence. Perkins, who lived with Gray and their children, allegedly staged the incident with the help of an accomplice, 29-year-old Coley of Goldsboro.

A Setup Unveiled
According to residents and social media posts, the incident was a calculated setup. Before her arrest, Perkins had made several controversial posts about Gray, also known as “HoodRich Montana.”
In a December 10, 2024, Facebook post, Perkins appeared to discourage attendees from Gray’s funeral, writing:
“Everybody that think they going to be at HoodRich Montana service y’all not! He only fed with a few and they know who they are, and the ppl he didn’t f with y’all know who y’all are.”
Another post from December 21 featured a photo of Perkins and her children with the caption:
“Burgundy for you HoodRich Montana ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ WATCH OVER US BAE WE LOVE YOU #RipHoodRich Until we Meet Again.”
Despite her outward mourning, investigators believe Perkins was involved in Gray’s death.
The Fatal Night
Police say the shooting occurred in the early morning hours of December 8. Perkins called 911, claiming an intruder had shot Gray while she was asleep. An excerpt from the call, reported by WITN News, reveals Perkins’ account:
911: “You said he was shot. Is he breathing?”
Caller: “No, I don’t think so.”
911: “When did this happen?”
Caller: “About 5 minutes ago.”
911: “How many are injured? Is it just him?”
Caller: “Yes, it is just him.”
911: “And how many suspects were involved?”
Caller: “I don’t know, sir. I was [redacted] in my bed and heard gunshots.”
Arrests and Charges
Both Perkins and Coley now face charges for Gray’s murder and felony conspiracy. Police believe the pair conspired to eliminate Gray, though the motive remains unclear.
