A Fayetteville youth football game at Reid Ross Classical School spiraled out of control after a heated argument between a coach and referee left one official on the ground.
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — What was supposed to be a youth 7-on-7 football game turned into a HOT MESS after a referee was knocked to the ground during a heated confrontation.

It happened at Reid Ross Classical School, where families showed up expecting touchdowns and good sportsmanship — but instead got a front-row seat to a turn up.
According to reports, things started getting tense after a disputed call sparked a back-and-forth between a coach and a referee. Witnesses say the argument escalated FAST, before it turned physical.
And that’s when it happened.
One referee ended up laid out on the field, leaving players, parents, and spectators stunned as the game came to an abrupt stop.

After a few tense moments, things were eventually calmed.
As of now, officials have not confirmed whether the referee was seriously injured, and there’s still no word on if any charges will be filed.
