The Robeson County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed the tragic discovery of 27-year-old Annie Lock, a Fayetteville woman who was reported missing in October 2024. Her body was found on Sunday, April 13, in a pond near N.C. Highway 72 West and Buie Philadelphus Road, located between Pembroke and Red Springs, North Carolina.
Lock had been last seen on August 17, 2024, in the area of Kiana Lane in Fayetteville. Her disappearance was officially reported on October 10, sparking a months-long search. At the time she went missing, she was wearing a black My Hero Academia shirt, gray sweatpants, and had her hair styled in long blue braids.

The North Carolina Medical Examiner’s Office has positively identified the remains as those of Annie Lock. However, officials have not released her cause of death, citing an active and ongoing investigation.
The case remains under joint investigation by the Fayetteville Police Department and the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities have not named any suspects or made any arrests.
