North Carolina Pastor Devin Carroll Arrested in Alarming Child Sex Case
A trusted figure in both the church and classroom has been hit with serious allegations. Devin Cyrus Carroll, 22, a former school aide and community pastor, was arrested on Saturday, July 5, 2025, and charged with third-degree criminal sexual conduct involving a minor, authorities have confirmed.
According to the Conway Police Department, Carroll was taken into custody following disturbing claims that he sexually assaulted a 13-year-old student at Conway Middle School, where he had been working as an in-school suspension aide. He is now formally charged with third-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor—a felony offense in South Carolina.

Pastoral Leadership at Happy Home Baptist Church
In addition to his role in the school system, Carroll was also listed as pastor of Happy Home Baptist Church in Columbus County, North Carolina, as recently as May 2024. However, the church’s website has since removed his name and other staff listings, raising further questions about the church’s internal awareness of the case.

The Alleged Incident
Investigators say the alleged assault occurred on May 29, 2025, when Carroll reportedly touched the 13-year-old’s private areas “with the intent of arousal.”
Carroll was booked into the J. Reuben Long Detention Center and later released on a $30,000 bond. The case remains under active investigation by the Conway Police Department.
