Hip-hop icons Jay-Z and Sean “Diddy” Combs are facing intense scrutiny after explosive allegations emerged in a civil lawsuit filed Sunday in New York, as reported by NBC News.
The lawsuit, brought forth by a woman identified as “Jane Doe,” accuses the two hip-hop moguls of sexually assaulting her at a drug-fueled afterparty following the 2000 VMAs at Radio City Music Hall. The alleged victim, just 13 years old at the time, claims she was drugged and attacked in a bedroom during the event.
Jay-Z Pulled Into the Legal Trouble
Originally filed against Diddy in October, the lawsuit was re-filed to include Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter. Diddy’s legal team has dismissed the allegations as “shameless publicity stunts.”
A Disturbing Night Recounted
According to the court documents, the plaintiff alleged she felt “woozy and lightheaded” after consuming a single drink. Seeking solace, she entered what she thought was an empty bedroom to lie down. However, she claimed Diddy entered the room with two other celebrities, including Jay-Z, before pinning her down and assaulting her.
“Combs aggressively approached Plaintiff with a crazed look in his eyes, grabbed her, and said, ‘You are ready to party,’” the lawsuit details. The woman further alleged that a female celebrity was present and watched the attack unfold.
A Wave of Allegations Against Diddy
This lawsuit adds to Diddy’s mounting legal woes. The music mogul has faced several allegations in recent months, including federal sex trafficking charges. His legal team continues to deny all claims, expressing confidence that the truth will clear his name in court.
The lawsuit comes amid a reckoning for the entertainment industry, with many questioning the unchecked power of its elite.
