An 18-year-old man in Jacksonville, North Carolina, found himself in handcuffs after police say he was caught slippin’ on surveillance footage wielding not one—but TWO knives in a residential neighborhood.
According to the Jacksonville Police Department, reports started coming in between July 11 and July 15, 2025, from residents in the Savannah Drive area. People were spooked after spotting a Black male allegedly creepin’ through yards with two large knives, possibly trying to break into homes.

That’s when the police turned the heat up. Detectives set up “focused surveillance” in the area, and just after midnight on Friday, July 18, it paid off.
They spotted someone dressed in all black and carrying a knife—that man, police say, was Bobby Jeremiah Montgomery of Jacksonville.
Charges Filed
Montgomery was arrested on the spot and hit with attempted First-Degree Burglary and going Armed to the Terror of the People. He was slapped with a $30,000 secured bond and remains in custody as of Monday morning.
