A North Carolina high school student is facing charges after a video surfaced showing her fighting a resource officer at Greene County Central High School in Snow Hill.

According to the police, the altercation occurred just before noon on Friday. The video we obtained, which is now circulating, shows the girl and a school resource officer exchanging blows before the officer is seen hitting the ground with the student on top of her.

A woman, who seemed to be a staff member at the school, was seen stepping in, as shown in the video. The officer appeared to be out of breath, as she was observed lying on the ground for a few seconds before getting back on her feet.

Greene County Sheriff Matt Sasser stated that the student will face charges in juvenile court. The school district also commented, noting that the deputy was unharmed and completed the remainder of the school day following the incident.
The superintendent stated that the student will also face disciplinary action from the school system.
