The Asheville Police Department is asking for help locating an Asheville man impersonating police officer who is facing multiple charges and is considered armed.
ASHEVILLE, N.C. – Asheville Police Department is asking for the public’s help in tracking down a 22-year-old man accused of pretending to be law enforcement — and they say he may be armed.
According to police, Rodrigo Barrera-Lozada, born October 3, 2003, has been charged with two counts of Impersonating a Police Officer following an investigation by APD detectives. Authorities say this isn’t his first run-in with this type of charge either. Barrera-Lozada is also facing a recent felony Impersonating a Police Officer charge in Henderson County.
Police describe Barrera-Lozada as a Hispanic male, 5’5” with a medium build, black hair, brown eyes, and glasses. His last known address was on Hilliard Avenue in Asheville.
Officers are warning the public NOT to approach him if spotted.
Law enforcement says he is known to be armed.
Anyone with information on Barrera-Lozada’s whereabouts is urged to contact the Asheville Police Department immediately.
