Aranelis Sabogal Credit Card Fraud: Charlotte Woman Steals Healthcare Worker’s Purse for Lavish Spending Spree

The Aranelis Sabogal credit card fraud case is making headlines in Charlotte on social media after a healthcare worker’s purse was stolen at Atrium Health Hospital and her credit cards were used to rack up over $3,500 in unauthorized charges.

On April 30, 2025, Charlotte police were contacted by Kelsey Kay, a local healthcare worker, who reported that her purse had been stolen from her workplace at Atrium Health-Myers Park located at 1350 Kings Drive. The stolen items included multiple credit and debit cards.

Within hours of the theft, charges appeared on Kay’s accounts—first, a $3,225.06 purchase at the Louis Vuitton store located at 4400 Sharon Road, and another $321.75 transaction at Forever Young Spa, also located at the same address.

The victim personally went to the spa to investigate and spoke with the manager, who allowed her to view surveillance footage of the fraudulent transaction. Kelsey immediately identified the suspect: Aranelis Sabogal, a patient at her clinic who had been in the office the same day the purse went missing.
