A tragic plane crash in Greenville, North Carolina, has left two people dead, according to the N.C. State Highway Patrol. The accident occurred Friday morning near N. Memorial Drive and Belvoir Road, prompting road closures and an ongoing investigation.
Authorities have closed N. Memorial Drive from Airport Road to Belvoir Road while they investigate the crash. Although officials report no evidence that the aircraft impacted the roadway, the wreckage was discovered at Consolidated Pipe on North Greene Street.

Federal investigators confirmed that the downed plane was a Beechcraft Bonanza, a single-engine aircraft. Flight records indicate that a Beechcraft Bonanza departed from Pitt-Greenville Airport (PGV) at 7:46 a.m., just minutes before the crash. The aircraft was en route to Vero Beach, Florida.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) have launched a full investigation to determine the cause of the fatal crash.
