A Florida woman is behind bars after police said earlier this week she ordered a hit on her 3-year-old son and tried to hire a hitman to carry it out, according to Miami-Dade police.
18-year-old Jazmin Paez is in jail after Miami-Dade police charged her with first-degree solicitation of murder and third-degree using a communications device for an unlawful purpose. On Tuesday, police said a man contacted them who operates a fake hire-an-assassin website to report Paez had contacted him to arrange a murder-for-hire. The site owner told police he created the website to catch and curb people like Paez, looking to hire killers.
According to police, Paez gave the man her son’s address and a picture of what he looked like. Court records show that Paez asked the man if he could have the hit carried out by Thursday, which would be today. During the police investigation, they traced the IP address of the computer Paez was allegedly using to make the request.
When police arrived at the address Paez gave the man she wanted to kill her son, they spoke to his grandmother, who said he was safe.
Investigators said they posed as the hired hitman and spoke with Paez, who agreed to pay $3,000 for the murder. She was arrested at her home. Police said when they arrived, Paez still had the murder-for-hire website on her computer.
