Authorities in Lincolnton, North Carolina reported that 37-year-old Ashlen Beatty slashed 60 tires on 18 vehicles parked outside a dentist’s office.
On the morning of July 29, Lincolnton Police responded to a call regarding Beatty damaging tires at Lincolnton Family Dentistry on East Sycamore Street, leaving several cars with all four tires flat. The vehicles targeted by Beatty were parked both at the dentist’s office and along the street.
Following the incident, Beatty was arrested and faces 18 counts of property damage. Police noted that many of the cars she targeted were parked near her residence on East Pine Street. A local homeowner mentioned that their ring camera recorded the entire event but they were hesitant to share the footage. However, it was reported that the video showed an individual running towards two cars in the homeowner’s shared driveway, using what appeared to be a large kitchen knife to slash the tires.
According to police, Beatty called the dentist’s office around 8:03 a.m. to request an appointment but was turned down.
“I walked out and I saw my neighbor’s car,” Nicholas Barnette told Queen City News. “All four of his tires were slashed and my back tire was slashed.”
