UNBELIEVABLE: Wilmington man charged for animal cruelty against a fish he allegedly abandoned

I am in shock after learning about a man in Wilmington, North Carolina being charged for animal cruelty over a fish. LOL!

Michael Ray Hinson, 53, of Wilmington has been charged with three counts of misdemeanor cruelty to animals and one count of abandonment of an animal.

Court documents say after Hinson was evicted from his home on March 22, he left his oscar fish in a dirty fish tank.

Heck, if he got evicted and had nowhere to go, why would he take the fish with him? Then, he and the fish wouldn’t have had anywhere to go. IJS

The fish was suffering from a hole in the head disease. It was taken to The Fish Room in Wilmington for care.

Hinson was released on a $4,000 unsecured bond.
