A 19-year-old was airlifted after she was stabbed in the back for turning down a 40-year-old man for a date.
Sunday night, Celestial Rose Lambert and her family had just left church, the same church the suspect worshiped at with Lambert before following them to Taco Bell.
Police in Archdale, North Carolina said Lambert was stabbed by Tyvonne Quantaine Upshur. He allegedly tried to run the teen and her family over at first but missed by crashing into a utility pole.
Upshur reportedly got out of his car and started stabbing Lambert in the back. The family of the 19-year-old was able to intervene and detain Upshur.
Lambert was taken to High Point Medical Center before she was airlifted to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. She is listed in stable condition, according to police.
Upshur was arrested and charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and six counts of assault with a deadly weapon.
