(Onslow County, North Carolina)– Neighbors in the Fox Creek Mobile Home Park in Onslow County, North Carolina say a 58-year-old man killed Sunday was murdered.
Sunday afternoon, at approximately 4 PM, deputies from the Onslow County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call about a person being, “shot or stabbed,” according to a press release.
Deputies arrived on the scene at 5363 Richlands Hwy, Lot 6 where they discovered a 58-year-old white male lying in the yard with a stab wound to his side.
The victim has been identified as 58-year-old Frank Tate Sr.
He was shot by 20-year-old Antonio, who is famously known in the neighborhood as “Rambo.”
“Rambo” admitted to deputies that he “accidentally” shot the 58-year-old man. He was detained then later released and is cooperating with the sheriff’s department, according to a press release.
Neighbors tell The North Carolina Beat that Antonio was dubbed the name “Rambo” because he would always walk around the neighborhood carrying various weapons. They say he killed Tate by shooting him with a crossbow in the side and then slashed his chest with a machete.
One neighbor who wishes to remain anonymous said that Tate had just moved into the neighborhood and that he was working with the landlord’s grandson named David. It is said that “Rambo” was jealous of Tate working with David because he no longer worked with him.
David is the maintenance man for the trailer park, according to neighbors.
We are working to release a photo of the 20-year-old.
