Hurricane Dorian sends waterspout to pay Emerald Isle a visit

1 min read

Officials in Emerald Isle, North Carolina posted to their website that a waterspout touched down around 9 a.m. Thursday.

Officials say more than a dozen campers were knocked over and their metal skin mangled and twisted.

The city was ground zero in 1996’s Hurricane Fran, which was the last major hurricane to make landfall in North Carolina

Emerald Isle weathered Hurricane Florence in 2018 and half-dozen other hurricanes in between.

Our prayers are with Emerald Isle as they recover.
