A 13-year-old girl believed to be suffering from dementia or some other cognitive impairment is still missing.
Aubrey Joelle Acree was last seen in Mooresboro N.C.
A silver alert for the missing girl was issued on Monday.
The FBI Charlotte Division said their agents are assisting the sheriff’s office in their efforts to locate Acree.
An eye-witness told the FBI that they saw Acree get into a vehicle with an unidentified person near Harris Henrietta Road in Mooresboro, N.C.
The FBI said Wednesday that investigators canvassed local businesses and identified an image of the vehicle. The image was reportedly captured at the intersection of Harris Henrietta Road and US-221A Highway in Rutherford County.
Deputies say Acree was last seen wearing a white jacket, leopard colored pants and Converse shoes.
Acree is 5 feet 3 inches tall, 130 pounds and has long brown hair and hazel eyes.
The N.C. Center for Missing Persons has also issued a Silver Alert for Acree.
Deputies continued their search Wednesday with the help of state and federal authorities.
Rutherford County Sheriff Chris Francis confirmed Acree’s family is offering a $4,000 reward for information leading to her safe return.
