Jakeob Shane Hill, a man once considered a friend to a missing Winston-Salem man, Thomas ‘TK’ Burton Jr., has been arrested and charged with his murder by the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office.
Burton’s lifeless body was discovered in September, but he had been missing since July 29, the day his wife, Jacqueline Guzman, last saw him at a Citgo gas station on N Martin Luther King Jr Drive in Winston-Salem. She had met him there to collect money for bills, and shortly after, received a text from him at 4:24 p.m., telling her he was with Hill, the last person known to be with him.
Just an hour after that text, Jacqueline received a strange phone call from her husband. He was whispering, his voice trembling with fear, repeatedly telling her, “I’m so scared, I’m so f***ing scared, Jacqueline, I’m so scared right now.” Those haunting words would be the last she heard from him.
Burton’s body was later found in the home of Hill’s other friend, Beau Benjamin Martin, who has also been charged for concealing and failing to report Burton’s death.
