A 44-year-old woman from Fayetteville, North Carolina, died after her 53-year-old husband stabbed her.
On Monday, August 22, 2022, around 8:30 p.m., the Fayetteville Police Department was dispatched to the 1900 block of Shiloh Court about a stabbing. When officers arrived, they found 44-year-old Tanisha Raeford dead. Police say her husband, 53-year-old John Douglas is the suspect in the case.
According to police, Douglas died in a car crash 30 minutes later near AB Carter and John B Carter Roads in Cumberland County.
A neighbor who lived beside Raeford said she ran to his home, begging him to call 911 because her husband, Douglas, had stabbed her and was planning to kill himself.
Raeford was dead on her neighbor’s kitchen floor when police arrived, where she used her last breath to beg her neighbor to call her grandmother.
Police say they found Douglas dead inside of his crashed truck.
