(Onslow County, North Carolina)– A man who neighbors say killed 58-year-old Frank Tate Sr. Sunday actually planned to kill him.
The North Carolina Beat has identified the 20-year-old questioned in the death of Tate Sr. as Antonio Derosa.
Neighbors say Derosa wanted Tate Sr. dead and a week before Sunday, he told them that he was going to kill him.
Tate Sr. died Sunday in the Fox Creek Mobile Home Park in Onslow County, North Carolina after he was shot with a crossbow by Dersoa and then slashed across his chest with a machete, according to neighbors.
Deputies say Antonio Derosa admitted to “accidentally” killing Tate Sr. He was not charged and later released.
Derosa is known in his neighborhood as “Rambo”. Neighbors say he dubbed that name because he would walk around the neighborhood carrying various weapons and killing animals.
One neighbor who wishes to remain anonymous said that she is disgusted at the Onslow Sheriff’s Department because they let a murderer walk free instead of detaining him pending their investigation.
“We are scared for our lives and the fact that our sheriff’s department let this man loose is disgusting. He is a murderer an everybody in our trailer park know he wanted that man dead.”
