A Palm Harbor, Florida woman has been arrested in North Carolina after she was driving South on I-95 near Godwin when she stabbed a man she provides care for with a sharpie marker and then pushed him out of the vehicle driving 60 miles per hour.
57-year-old Arlene Mary Bonitz was arrested Friday, July 1, by the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department and appeared in court today, July 5, 2022. Police say after she pushed the man out of the vehicle, she continued to drive several miles on I-95 until she was involved in a single-vehicle collision.Â
Bonitz and the victim were transported to a local hospital for treatment. The man who has cognitive delays sustained a broken pelvis and had road rashes on his face, hands, and legs.Â
Bonitz was charged with Assault With A Deadly Weapon With Intent to Kill and remains in the Cumberland County Detention Center on a $75,000 bond.
